Who knew?

That I would ever love fabric enough to dream about it. This week I had a good week at work. It helps that I got to witness a Broadway Musical being put together. It was such a neat process to witness, everthing from stage production to band rehearsals and of course seeing the actors rehearse their lines and sing all day. The Broadway musical show "In the Heights" will be going on tour for a year and they chose Gainesville's Phillips Center as its starting point. They are giving us a sneak peak and I get to go with a hot date to see the show. I got to meet Tony award winning Lyn-Manuel Miranda, the creator and star of "In the Heights". He will not be performing in the off-broadway tour but was in Gainesville all week to oversee production. He is such a nice guy. I use to watch the show "House" but then it became a bit too much for me so I stopped. Then I heard Lyn-Manuel was in the very first episode of this season so I watched it. He is a great actor! (He played House's roommate by the way).

Ok, I realize I totally detracted from fabric so here I go again. This week one of my favorite fabric designers, Anna Maria Horner, gave us a peak into her new fall line and I could not be more excited! Although I am but a novice to the world of sewing, I feel like I deserve to buy some of her fabric and I think I just may! Check out her website and please tell me you agree that her fabric designs are beautiful! And you better bet your bottom I will be recreating those neat coffee table/stools! That will be my next project.

I really don't want sewing to become the next scrapbook phase of my life. In my old ward everyone scrap booked so I joined the bandwagon and $200 dollars later I came up with one scrap book page :( When I got into the sewing world I fell in love with all the neat fabric designs and realized this could easily turn into a "collect all kinds of pretty fabric and watch it gather dust" but decided I would actually create things and not let it go to waste. So far so good but if you ever see me slacking off please ask me to sew you a pillow!

Friends + Rock Band= Fun!

Purse

A few months ago I invited Tara Janson over to sew purses together. We had a great time and caught up with our busy lives. Hannah came over as well and watched a movie which Jon and I love, it's called: "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind"

We were 1/2 way done but ran out of steam. Well, several months later and I finally finished my purse. Here it is:

I can be a little over achiever at times. I created 2 pockets cause I love my purse to have pockets. I had no idea what I was doing and as a result my fingertips will never be the same.



I loved sewing this purse and I hope I have made Natalie (my sewing master) very proud!

Amber E. hosted a Halloween Baby shower for Jessica who is due on October 31st. She asked us to dress up and I think I took it a little too far! I had a great time :)
