4 years ago. . .

This gal got ready for the happiest day of her life. . .

While this hunk waited patiently. . .

Once they exchanged "I'do's". . .

They partied with family & friends. . .

Then ate some delicious cake (Jon a little more than I) . . .

This gal threw the bouquet. . .

And then partied a little more. . .

Then this hunk swept this brunette off her feet to a romantic 17 day honeymoon to the Islands of HAWAII. . .

And so the adventure began. . .

We jet skiied in the ocean. . .

We parasailed. . .

Visited the tough terrains of Volcanic Park. . .

Walked along the Black Sand beach. . .

Drank lots of Pina Coladas. . .
(alcohol-free)

And enjoyed a Luau... before this brunette got home-sick and cut her honeymoon short (11 out of 17 days isn't so bad!)

Happy Anniversary to the man that has made my dreams come true. We have experienced lots of wonderful moments together and I look forward to many, many, more.

4th of July

On the 4th of July, Jon and I went to my very first ball game. His co-intern Stephen invited us out with a group of friends, and we had such a blast. Sorry the pictures are a bit late, I left my memory card at home and asked a friend to take some pictures for me.

When I saw the mascot I yelled "Gators!" but then was quickly corrected by fans who said they were dragons. Sorry.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Claudia's Take:
I was going to post this on my side menu but it deserves some attention. Jon and I just watched the original inspiration for the movie "Rat Race." It's called "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World." I laughed so hard I had tears coming out. We really enjoyed this movie and it made us forget about everything because this movie was just so hilarious. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!

Jon's Take:
So Claudia has us watching some older films. As a rule, I've never really seen anything made before 1978 that wasn't either a Disney film or on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Now that we've made it through Lawrence of Arabia and the Thief of Baghdad, I thought it was time for a comedy. The box for "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" used to stare at me when I worked for Superstore Video News, oh, say 9 years ago now. And I know Claudia loves "Rat Race," so I thought we'd give this one a crack. You sure used to get more for your money, back in the day. This movie is what, 500 minutes long? For an action/comedy, that's quite a feat. And it's filled with tons of cameos from a bunch of people my parents probably would recognize, but I sure don't. Still, a funny movie.

Score: 10 Boress points out of a possible 13.

Steps on how to have a fun Saturday

Step 1: Eat a hearty breakfast

Step 2: Be one with Nature

Bald Eagles! My first time seeing one, they are beautiful

Step 3: See a 3-D movie

Step 4: Go grocery shopping

Step 5: Watch an epic movie

Jon and I had a wonderful day on Saturday. We went to the Carolina Raptor Center. It's a bird rehabilitation center that rescues birds and then releases them back to the wild. Some, however, are too sick to go back to the wild, and so they stay at the Carolina Raptor Center, where we can all enjoy seeing these amazing creatures up close.

After visiting the center, Jon and I went to see "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 3-D. Jon loves 3-D movies. Or maybe he just likes the glasses. We both enjoyed the flick. It had no bad words nor inappropriate scenes - which is rare in a film nowadays.

We then went grocery shopping cuz c'mon, a girl's gotta eat!

We ended the night cuddled in each others arms as we saw "Lawrence of Arabia" - which was 999 hours long, but good nonetheless. What can I say, we love movies!
