The start of a new school year

Jon and I started school last week. We had a pretty busy week but we are so happy to be home and into our usual routine. What's different this year is that I will be graduating real soon. What's also new is that Jon started Business school and so far he really likes it and is looking forward to what is to come. This semester we are both taking the same class, Financial Accounting, except Jon is taking it at a Masters level and little ol' me is taking it at a peon's level. Which works in my favor because Jon is now my private tutor. :) Here are some pic's of this week.

This is what I cooked on our first hectic day back to school. Some yummy Mac N' Cheese and a salad. Very balanced heh!

When Jon and I got back from classes we noticed a lovely package on our front doorstep. Premier (the company Jon interned for over the summer, sent him some gourmet pears and other lovely treats. It was such a nice gesture.)

With a Hi Hi Ho and a Hi Hi Hey

The Eurovision Song Contest is kinda a big deal to the rest of the world. I won't pretend to know much about it, but I stumbled across this gem of a performance and felt I had to share it with all of you. Each country submits their great hope to the competition. This group qualified for the finals.

Thank you, Latvia!

Barbecue

(Sorry this post is so late)

On our last day in Charlotte we were invited to a barbecue at Jason's rad place. We had a great time hanging out with employees from Premier.

We're back

We made it! And just in time for a tropical storm to welcome us back. I will be bunkering down for the next few days.

Blue Ridge Parkway - 4th Anniversary, part 2

The next day after visiting the Biltmore, we went to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I have always wanted to be immersed in the grand beauty of mountainous terrain. I also have a love of waterfalls. Jon and I drove around, stopped at some scenic points, and then decided to park our car and go for a hike to see some waterfalls. Along the way we got a little . . . lost. Someone took down the sign that pointed to where the waterfall was and instead we ended up hiking on "Graveyard trail!" For the record, I turned left but then Jon stopped me and said to head right (which was the wrong way). But he ended up having a blast. We picked blue berries and blackberries along the way and saw numerous beautiful butterflies. Once we realized there were no water falls we turned around and found the right trail. We finally made it but by then I was exhausted. Jon was curious how long we hiked on the trail. We figured it out, and then I gasped! It was 10 miles, ladies and gents. Needless to say, the next day I felt like I could really use a body cast. I really wish we had fun trails in Gainesville where I wouldn't have to be afraid of alligators jumping out at me. I definitely miss the mountain scenery and I look forward to going back someday to the Blue Ridge Parkway. There's just about 420 more miles of it left to see.

This is my future home

How cool am I

This was the highest point on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the highest I've ever been
I had no idea butterflies like mud

And there's Jon, my husband of 4 years and counting. I'm glad he didn't fall off of the highest point of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Biltmore

Last weekend Jon took me to Asheville, NC to visit the Biltmore house as well as the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Biltmore was very beautiful. My favorite parts were the indoor bowling alley and the indoor swimming pool in the basement. Ahh, someday!

Imagine waking up to this view everyday and knowing all of this land is yours

The Gardens at the Biltmore were very beautiful

Tractor Jon!

Yes, that's right, I held the baby chick after 30 minutes of scaredum.
